Donald William Byers, 62, of Camanche, Iowa, died Sunday, October 27, 2019, at MercyOne, Clinton. Services will be held 10:30AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. Mark’s Methodist Church, Camanche. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the service hour at the church. Burial will take place 1:30PM Monday, November 4, 2019 at the Rock Island Arsenal, National Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Donald was born March 20, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Marion Louise (Nave) Byers. He was a U. S. Navy and U. S. Air force veteran. He had been employed as a government contractor until 2004.
Don was a proud veteran, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on his houseboat. He and Cathy were planning a trip down the Mississippi.
Survivors include his fiancée, Cathy Walz of Camanche; sisters, Barbara (Loyd) Henson Mayflower, Arkansas and Michelle Edens of Clinton and his son, Brad Byers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
