Dolores L Wilson's Obituary
Dolores L. Wilson, 77, of Camanche Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, after her long term fight with muscular dystrophy; she was accompanied by her loving husband and children.
Dolores was born in Escanaba Michigan on Feb 28, 1947. She was the third of nine children to Sylvester and Lillian (Wellman) LaBay, Sr. of Escanaba. She was married to the love of her life (Larry R Wilson), for 58 years, and had 3 children and 6 grandchildren during those 58 years.
Dolores loved her family dearly. She truly loved each of them and if you knew her, you knew it. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and her relationship with her sisters and brothers was cherished. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Dolores is survived by her husband; children Bobbi (Shawn) Knutsen of Goose Lake Iowa, Larry T (Cheryl) Wilson of Camanche Iowa; grandchildren, Corbin, Carter, Jacob, Christian (Kayleigh), Lillian, and Bryanna (Anthony); sisters, Dixie Wiles, Ann Vansickle, Cathie (Dan) DuBord, Louise (Wally) Edington, and brother Peter (Wes Nygaard) LaBay; and other very close relatives Ray Collins and Liz LaBay.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Sylvester and Lillian); daughter Terrie; sisters Mary and Jessie; brother Butch; nephews Raymond, Dennis; and niece Tisha.
In typical Dolores fashion, there will be a celebration of life for close friends and family at 1st Congregational church, 700 N Bluff Blvd, Clinton, Iowa, starting at 11am on May 18th. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the memorial fund to help pay for the final expenses.
