Dolores Sharples' Obituary
Dolores J. Sharples, 77, of Clinton, Iowa died Friday January 18, 2008 at her home in Clinton. Services will be 10:30am Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Prince of Peace Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Dolores was born July 10, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Bernard and Verna (King) Ekland. She was a 1948 Clinton High School graduate. She also attended the University of Iowa and Clinton Community College. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for Northrup Aircraft in California, Waukesha Engines and Mercantile Bank. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and A.B.W.A, National Association of Business Women. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Lyons of Tonapah, NV; son, James Sharples of Moorpark, CA; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; her sister-in-law, Bette Ekland of Cedar Rapids and nieces and nephews
