Dolores G. Chambers, 97, of Clinton formerly of Camanche passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at MercyOne in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Dolores Grace Otten was born September 19, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Herman Phillip and Frieda Louise (Huebbe) Otten. She attended Clinton Community Schools. She married James Chambers on December 11, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1995.
Dolores worked at Rich’s Toy Factory and Burpee’s and then at the Clinton Garment Factory for 29 years until it closed. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door, enjoyed cleaning and playing games like Trouble. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children: Bonnie Magelsdorf of Clinton and William (Sandra) Chambers of Camanche; 6 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 20 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, three brothers and her son-in-law MIke Mangelsdorf.
Memorial may be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.
