Dixie Schutte's Obituary
Dixie M. Haley-Schutte, 81, of Clinton, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Dubuque. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Hartman, Dustin Anderson, Nick Anderson, Brandon Wiens, Billy Haley, and Steve Krogman. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Dixie Marie Thompson was born on July 19, 1930 in Louisa, Kentucky, the daughter of Lindsey and Hattie (Thompson) Thompson. She married Martin Haley on July 10, 1947 in Sabula, Iowa; he later died on December 3, 1984. She later married Darold Schutte on November 2, 1987; he later died on June 25, 2004. Dixie was a CNA at the Boarden Manor and at Mt. Alverno for many years. She enjoyed bowling, cheating at cards, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Dixie is survived by one son: Danny (Julie) Haley of Clinton; six daughters: Elizabeth (Kevin) Wiens of Cordova, Illinois, Lori (Joe) Hartman of Camanche, Tammy Nixon of Clinton, Angie Anderson of Clinton, April Haley of Clinton, and Heather (Chris) Haley of Dubuque, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and an uncle: Bob Thompson of Ohio. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one brother, and two sisters. Memorials can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis or Crones Disease prevention.
