Dianne S. Maxa's Obituary
Dianne S. Maxa, 87, of Clinton passed away, Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Alverno.
Per her request there will be no services or visitation. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Dianne Sue Werner was born on September 13, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Eunice (Anderson) Werner. She was a 1955 graduate of Des Moines Roosevelt High School and later graduated from the University of Dubuque in 1978. She married Myron “Mike” Maxa on October 10, 1959 in Des Moines; he passed away January 11, 2014.
Diane was a professional figure skater and skated all over the world with “Holiday on Ice”, was a reservation agent for Northwest Airlines, and a buyer for Joseph’s Jewelry Store in Des Moines. She was a teacher at Lyons Middle School from 1978 until her retirement in 2007.
Dianne was a member of the First Congregational Church. She enjoyed reading and traveling.
Dianne is survived by her daughters: Wendy (Steven) Jennings of Dallas, Georgia, and Kerry (Bill) Espey of Clinton; four grandchildren: Brady & Reid Jennings, and Jacob & Nick Espey; and her brother: Steven Werner of Thailand. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: George Werner, Jr.
