Diana Julia Borja's Obituary
Diana Julia Borja, 83, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at her daughter’s home, Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Davenport. Services will be held 10:30AM Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Diana was born March 6, 1939 in Perth Amboy, NJ, the daughter of Albert James and Diana Evelyn (Swanton) Antonides. Diana married Dr. Salvador R. Borja in 1958 in Fords, NJ; he died December 14, 2017.
Diana was a very active volunteer in her younger years, she taught Sunday School and worked for St. Mary’s Parish in Sterling and substitute taught at Sterling High School.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. She bowled for many years, coached high school quiz bowl at Mater Dei High School and Sterling Newman High School, she was a Cub Scouts den mother and was also active with Girl Scouts. Diana was famous for her Christmas letters with their unquestioned veracity.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Scott) Bartling of Davenport, IA; Kenneth (Jeanne) Borja of Clinton; Kris Borja of Clinton; Kim Borja of Clinton; Barbara (Jason) Hogan of Fairfax, IA and Robert (Erin) Borja of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, 2546 Tech Dr., Bettendorf, IA 52722.
