Dennis R. Witt, 66, of Clinton passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center - Clinton
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Dennis Rae Witt was born July 21, 1955 in Delmar, Iowa, the son of Bud and Dorla (Harrington) Witt. He was a 1973 graduate of Andrew High School. He worked for Darling International formerly known as National Bi-Products for 45 years; retiring in 2021.
Dennis married Nancy after sweeping her off her feet during dance lessons, on July 7, 2001 in Clinton, Iowa; she recalls him promising her love, romance and adventure. For the next 20 years he hit it out of the park! Adventure could be found in the woods or on the water be it stalking a trophy buck or calling the “switch” during a heated canoe race. When he wasn’t outside he was hitting the lanes, avid bowler is an understatement. He loved sports all the way from little league to the big league. He will be remembered as being the biggest fan and cheerleader of the grandkids, Hawkeyes, Bears and Cubs.
Dennis will be lovingly missed by his wife Nancy of Clinton; four children: Tiffany Witt of Long Grove, Iowa, Rachael (Brian) Bartachek of North Liberty, Iowa, Kenny Mitchell of DeForest, Wisconsin and Courtney Holcomb of Clinton; six grandchildren: Jordan, Quinn, Serena, Alex, Jaylynn and Merritt; and two brothers: Rick (Kathy) Witt of Peyton, Colorado and Jeff Witt of Spragueville, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Kandy Carr.
