Dennis Hereid,'s Obituary
Dennis D. Hereid, Sr., 62, of Clinton, died Monday, November, 8, 2010 at his home. Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton, with Military Honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be his two sons, Tony and Joseph, his two brothers, David and Rudolph and his nephew Travis. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Dennis Dale Hereid was born June 7, 1948 in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, the son of Rudolph and Irene (George) Hereid. He was a 1966 Clinton High School graduate. Dennis served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era from 1969 to 1974. He worked for Nestle Purina as a machine operator for 36 years. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to Six Flags amusement park and spoiling them with gifts. He had a love of technology and also enjoyed collecting miniature trains and racecars. He loved his family and had an interest in motorcycles and Red Skeleton. Dennis is survived by the mother of his children, Penny Johnston of Clinton; two sons: Tony Hereid of Pocahontas, Iowa and Joseph Hereid of Fonda, Iowa; one daughter: Laurie McDade of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two brothers Bud and David Hereid of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Hereid. Memorials may be made to the family
