Dennis Craig Heath, 77, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 at his home in Clinton, surrounded by his family.
Private graveside services were held at Springdale Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Clinton assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Dennis was born February 10, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Paul and Vernice (Knudson) Heath. He was a 1965 Clinton High School graduate and received his BA and MA from the University of Iowa. He married Connie Joan Buckman March 24, 1968 in Clinton; she died June 17, 2017.
Dennis was employed as an eighth-grade science teacher in Byron, Illinois after graduating from college and had been employed with Chicago and Northwestern Railroad and Amtrack for more than 25 years prior to retiring.
Dennis is survived by three children: Jane Heath of Clinton, IA; Tully Heath of Algona, Iowa, and Ben (Kazumi) Heath of Front Royal, Virginia; four grandchildren, Gage Bryant, Jace Bryant, Ricky Heath and Ellie Heath.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.
