Dellamae Jean Smith, 95, of Savanna, IL, passed away Friday January 6, 2023 at Big Meadows, Savanna. Graveside services are being planned for late spring/early summer. Dellamae Foster was born August 2, 1927 in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of George and Dorcus (Hook) Foster. She married Stewart M. Smith August 31, 1946 in Camanche, IA; Stewart died August 1, 2015.
Dellamae was a homemaker and also worked at the Clinton Garment Factory, Kline’s, GE and baby sat many kids over the years. She and Stewart were avid campers and were Sammer’s, members of Sam’s Camping Club.
Survivors include her children, Lawana (Larry) Norem of Fulton, IL; Kathy (Michael) Housenga of Fulton, IL and Terry (Kirsten) Smith of Bloomington, IL; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; sisters, Julie (Les) Dornbush of Fulton, IL; Gayla LaFleur of DesMoines, IA; brother Irvin Foster of Savanna, IL and many nieces and nephews..
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson Evan; a sister and her parents. The family would like to thank the Staff at Big Meadows and her hospice nurse for their care.
