DeLaus L. Zenk's Obituary
DeLaus L. Zenk, 86, of Clinton passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, September 22, 2023 at Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
DeLaus LaVerne Zenk was born September 27, 1936 in Thomson, Illinois, the son of Harold and Ada (Mason) Zenk. He married Julia Ann Feddersen at the York Community Church in Thomson, Illinois on June 28, 1958. He graduated High School from York Community School in Thomson, Illinois and then completed a masonry apprenticeship program at Iowa State University.
DeLaus owned and operated Espe & Zenk General Contractors. He was very proud of the many buildings in the Clinton area that they built. He enjoyed being outdoors and boating on the Mississippi River and spending the last 26 winters in Mission, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Julie Zenk of Clinton; two sons: Lauren (Sheila) Zenk of Bettendorf, Iowa and Leland Zenk of Parkview, Iowa; four siblings: Iona (James) Tack of Savanna, Illinois, Marlys Dreier of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, Dale Zenk of Thomson, Illinois and Sharlene (Jim) Heimbaugh of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
