Debra "Debbi" Swanson's Obituary
Debra “Debbi” Swanson, 71, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Grace Lutheran Church – DeWitt, Iowa. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Debra Bender was born on January 8, 1953 in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur LeRoy and Grace Maxine (Johnson) Bender. She was a 1971 graduate of Lamoni High School where she was proud to serve as a page in the Iowa Senate her senior year. She was a 1975 graduate of Iowa State University. She later received her Masters from Marycrest University. She married Lynn Swanson on July 12, 1975 in Lamoni, Iowa.
Debbi was a preschool teacher and later librarian at Unity Christian in Fulton for 25 years. She would own and operate Elegance Express in downtown Clinton. She would later work for Colony Brands in customer service retiring in 2020.
Debbi was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir. She loved sewing and enjoyed playing the piano at Fieldstone on a monthly basis.
Debbi is survived by her husband: Lynn of Clinton and two daughters: Laura Swanson and Abbey Swanson both of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church – DeWitt.
