David L. Zuidema's Obituary
David L. Zuidema, 76, of Morrison, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Internment will be Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 9:45am at Grove Hill Cemetery with a Celebration of Life at 10:30am at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory – Clinton, Iowa is assisting the family.
David Lee Zuidema was born on September 11, 1936 in Morrison, Illinois, the son of Elmer and Carlene (Snyder) Zuidema. He was a 1954 graduate of Morrison High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1959.
David married Joan Bealer on December 30, 1967 in Morrison, Illinois.
David owned and operated Morrison Implement for over 20 years. After his retirement he was involved in several private enterprises.
David was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, watching NASCAR, wintering in Texas, and bird watching.
David is survived by his wife: Joan of Morrison; three sons: Edward Zuidema of Fulton, Michael Zuidema of Fox Lake, Il, and Kevin Zuidema of Clinton; one daughter: Jennifer (James) Hatfield of Goldsboro, North Carolina; two step-sons: Daniel (Kelli) Stanton of South Padre, Texas, and Steven (Moira) Stanton of Cibolo, Texas; two step-daughters: Kaye Hoogerwerf of Lombard, Il, and Tracey Ziegenhorn of East Peoria, Il; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister: Carol Stichter of Morrison, one brother: Larry Zuidema of Morrison, and a half-sister: Dawn Zuidema of Morrison and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Diane Jones.
Memorials can be made to the Unity Christian School.
