David Francis Keeney's Obituary
David F. Keeney, 73, of Clinton, Iowa died of heart failure on Thursday February 15, 2024.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.
Dave was born on October 6, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa to Wilton and Dorothy Keeney. He married Deb Koch and they had one son, Matt, together. They later divorced.
Dave graduated from St.Mary’s High School and went to Clinton Community College.
He joined the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and served overseas with the Seabees MCB-71.
With his Navy schooling and work experience he launched a 40 year career as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He was a life-time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 150.
Dave is survived by his son, Matt, also by his sister Mary Ellen VanGoethem and brothers Phil (Jeanne)Keeney and Joe(Audrey)Keeney, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins and his former wife Deb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Gary VanGoethem.
