David A. Hansen's Obituary
David A. Hansen, 91, of Clinton passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Terrace Glen Village in Marion, Iowa.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery immediately following the service, military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. David Alan Hansen was born May 9, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Einer and Grace (Hoffman) Hansen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1953 and earned an Associates Degree from Clinton Jr. College in 1955. David served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, National Guard from 1958-1960 and continued to serve in the Army Reserves until 1962. He married Joan Triplett on July 7, 1956 in Clinton; she passed away in November of 1980. He married Bonnie Brown on February 14, 1982 in Clinton, Iowa.
He worked for Clinton Corn and then ADM for 38 years; retiring in 1999. Prior to his career at ADM he worked for Central Steel tube for 8 years. In David's early years before his military service he enjoyed riding his 1947 Harley Davidson motorcycle In retirement he enjoyed travelling, visiting with family and wood working in the garage. He made many items including wooden toys like trucks and cars to give to family and he donated many of those items to Toys for Tots. He and his wife enjoyed gardening and were members of St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
David is survived by his wife Bonnie Hansen of Marion, Iowa; two sons: Mark (Deborah) Hansen of Thomson, Illinois and Greg (Diane) Hansen of Davenport, Iowa; son-in-law Larry Kupfer of Kansas City, Missouri; step children: Richard (Shelley) Brown of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Cyndi (John) Nahoney of Pensacola, Florida, Peggy (Jim) Hartsgrove of Winfield, Illinois, Melinda (John) Mohr of Marion, Iowa and Dwaine (Kari) Brown of LaPorte City, Iowa; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, one sister Marilyn Matthew and his daughter Debra Kupfer.
