Darrell F. Kunde's Obituary
Darrell F. Kunde, 86, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm, Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Darrell Franklin Kunde was born March 24, 1936 in Charlotte, Iowa, the son of Herman and Edna (Schmidt) Kunde. He was a graduate of Elvira High School and served in the United States Army. Darrell married Barbara Luce on December 26, 1958; she preceded him in death on July 29, 2019. He helped his father operate the Shell gas station in Elvira and then worked as a maintenance mechanic at Chemplex; retiring in 1998.
Darrel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton. He enjoyed time spent golfing, watching sports but mostly he loved time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters: Kimberly (James) Anderson of Clinton and Robyn Schabilion of DeWitt; four grandchildren: Megan (Justin) Nylin, Katherine Schabilion, Ryan Anderson and Ashley Schabilion; one great grandson: Ryan Anderson, Jr; and sister Marna Ward.
Darrel was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one brother Melvin Kunde.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or to Mercy Hospice.
