Darrell Bott's Obituary
Darrell R. Bott, 79, of rural Clinton, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, January 18, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, Andover with Rev. Shannon Witt officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be A.J. Heister, Luke McDermott, Scott Hansen, David Wagemester, Leon Bott, and Gilbert Bott. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Darrell Rollend Bott was born on October 25, 1930 in Clinton County, Iowa the son of John and Gladys (Stamp) Bott. He married LaVonne Hansen on June 7, 1953 in Elvira, she died October 6, 1982. He later married Marjorie Sagers on September 17, 1983 in Maquoketa. Darrell attended Clinton County Country School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1952-1954. Darrell was a longtime farmer farming south of Andover retiring in 1994. He enjoyed his farming friends and neighbors spending time with them in the field and at Gil’s. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, a member of the Miles American Legion, a member of the Andover Lions Club, and volunteered on the Andover Fire Department. Darrell is survived by his wife: Marjorie of Clinton; two step-daughters: Joan (Rodney) Engelbrecht of Springfield, Ohio, Jane (Lyn) Heister of Maquoketa, Iowa; a step-son: Jonathan (Beth) Sagers of Stanton, Minnesota, and three grandchildren. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife: LaVonne. Memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the Alverno.
