Darline Stone's Obituary
Darline F. Stone, 89, of rural Camanche, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center - DeWitt, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, May 8, 2009 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with Dr. Don Batz officiating. Burial will be in the Shafton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Judd, Tom Hardersen, Jim Camp, Mark Siebel, Dick Carver, and Bob Card. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time Friday at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Darline F. Mowat was born on November 17, 1919 in Lost Nation, Iowa, the daughter of Ivan and Anna (Spangler) Mowat. She married Dale Stone on December 24, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa; he later died January 28, 1989. Darline was employed in the hardware department of Jim Walter Windows until her retirement when the plant closed in 1980. Darline was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Her entire life was dedicated to her kids and grandkids. Darline is survived by her two sons: Ed (Sharon) Stone of rural Camanche, Dean (Ann) Stone of Van, Texas; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; her sister: Dorothy Camp of Bryant, and her brother Art (Mary) Mowat of Davenport. Darline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, one brother, one sister, and two granddaughters. Memorials may be made to the family.
