Daniel J. Mitchell, 60, of Fulton passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Daniel James Mitchell was born June 8, 1962 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Anna (Wiebenga) Mitchell. He was a 1981 graduate of Fulton High School. He married Roni Whitten on October 6, 1990. He worked construction for many years and was on the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. Daniel was very active with Big River Abate of Illinois. He was an Avid Rams, Dodgers, and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed working on cars and drag racing, but mostly he loved time spent with his family and friends. Dan was fun-loving and a friend to all.
Daniel is survived by his wife Roni Mitchell of Fulton; children: Melissa (Curis Ishmael) Wiersema of Fulton, Heather Crosser of Fort Collins, Colorado and RJ (Bobbie Jean) Jensen of Fulton; seven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren: four sisters: Donna (LaVerne) Schroeder, Roberta Vanderploog, Linda (Richard) Vankampen and Leah Ann (Greg) Duncan; and many niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one great grandson, four brothers: Raymond, William, Warren and Leonard Mitchell; and brother-in-law Larry Vanderploog.
