Daniel Jones' Obituary
Daniel “Island Man Dan” P. Jones, age 47, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at home. He was born on Dec. 9, 1963, in Clinton, IA, the son of Everett L. and Jeanette (Schmitz) Jones, Sr. He graduated from Clinton High School and had lived most of his life in Clinton, IA until moving to Janesville in 2000. Danny had been employed by Chugash Management Services International at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site in Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands until his retirement in February of 2011. He loved putting together model car kits, traveling and spending time with his family . He is survived by his 5 siblings: Terry (Rhonda) Jones of Janesville, Russell Jones of Clinton, IA, Kathy (Ken) Thomson of Milton, Timothy Corkhill of Gonzales, LA and Robert (Sandra) Corkhill of Supply, NC; special nephew, Robbie Mattingly of Milton; special niece, Sharon Mattingly of Janesville; many other nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Mark Jones and Thomas Corkhill. A Celebration of Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Clinton, IA. A special thank you to Mercy Hospice Care, especially Debbie Kessler for all the loving care she gave Danny and his family.
