Dale Eugene Stewart's Obituary
Dale Eugene Stewart, 81, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, IA. Services will be 10:00AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Clinton, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Monday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, and will conclude with a 7:00PM Rose Croix service. Burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Evan Kenney, Trey Kenney, Ryan Jordan, Tanner Jordan, Alec Jordan and Ryan Juergens. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Matt Reiff, Alyssa Kenney, Sloane Piper and Jessica Juergens. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Dale was born January 7, 1943 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Roy and Vera (Spencer) Stewart. He was a 1961 Moline High School graduate. He served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dale married Lu Ella Reynolds April 4, 1964 in Moline, Illinois.
Dale owned and operated Mr. Quick for more than 26 years, had been employed at Guardian Glass for ten years, was the former owner of Banner Home Furnishings and had been employed as a bus monitor for the Clinton Schools.
Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church and former member of First Congregational Church. He was a member of the Western Star, Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies, KAABA Temple, was a 32nd degree Mason, was JCI Senator and Jaycees Member and Past Clinton Jaycees President.
Dale is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lu Ella; children, DeeDee (Craig) Piper of Clinton, IA; Deb (Bob) Jordan of Fountain Inn, SC and Dean (Lauri) Stewart of Andrew, IA; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and his brother, Paul (Lavelle) Stewart of Moline, IL.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janice and Carol and niece, Sherry Norman.
