Cynthia E. Jones' Obituary
Cynthia E. Jones, 76, of Camanche went to be with her Lord, Monday, October 1, 2020 at MercyOne – Clinton, Iowa.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Online condolences may expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com. In consideration of COVID-19 risks, the family asks that all those coming to visitation wear a mask.
Cynthia Emmy Olson was born May 7, 1944 in Albany, New York, the daughter of Thurston and Hazel (Bergwall) Olson. She was a graduate of Greenville Central, Greenville, New York and then earned her Bachelors degree from State University College in New Paltz, New York. She married Carroll Lee Jones on July 16, 1982; he preceded her in death on July 17, 2005.
Cyndi worked for the Arlington School District as a teacher for 25 years. She was a member of the Journey Church in Clinton where she grew her faith in her Lord and Savior. She and Carroll had a strong faith in the Lord and knew they would be reunited in Heaven together. Cyndi was involved with the Friends of the Library in Camanche, involved with the Clintones, enjoyed playing games especially cross word puzzles and playing Bridge with her weekly Bridge party girls.
Cyndi is survived by her four children: Mark (Nancy) Jones of Fulton, Andrew (Rita Dennehy) Jones of outside Montpellier, France, Laura (Michael) Jones of San Antonio, Texas and Jenny (Jason) Winch of Wilmington, New York; four grandchildren: Matthew (Ann Mitchell) Jones of Fulton, Samuel Feldman of Poughkeepsie, New York, Melissa Jones of Clinton and Amber Winch of Wilmington, New York; one great grandson, Coehn Smith; and one sister, Hazel Ford of Orlando, Florida.
In addition to her husband, Cyndi was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janice Brand.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
