Courtland Greve's Obituary
Courtland J. Greve, 78, of Camanche, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche with military honors being conducted by the Camanche VFW. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Norris, Robbie Hill, Randy Hill, Jeff Greve, Robin Thompson, and Rick Thompson. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Courtland Jacque Greve was born on February 3, 1930 in Low Moor, Iowa, the son of Virtus and Clydia (Wiley) Greve. He married Dolores “Sis” Null on November 8, 1953 in Camanche, Iowa. Court was a 1948 graduate of Elvira High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. Court was employed with EI Dupont for over 25 years as a machine operator; retiring in 1991. Prior to that he was employed with G.L. Hall’s in Low Moor as a truck driver. Court was a member and past-commander of the Camanche VFW, a member and past-governor of the Clinton Moose Lodge #363, and a member of the Moose Legion. Court is survived by his wife: Dolores “Sis” of Camanche; one son: Dennis Greve of Clinton, and one daughter: Debra (Larry) Cramer of Camanche; three grandsons: Josh (Kelly) Cramer of Fulton, Matt Cramer of Tampa, Florida, and Bart Cramer of Clinton; two great-granddaughters: Brianna and Paige Cramer; three sisters: Arlene “Jose” Thompson of Clinton, Gloria (Bob) Hill of Hiawassee, Arkansas, and Janet (Bill) Coneau of Yuma, Arizona. Court was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. The family requests that memorials be made to Camanche Fire Department.
