Clyde D. McKenrick's Obituary
Clyde D. McKenrick, 94, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the service hour Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Clyde was born February 13, 1929, the son of Homer and Mary (Dannatt) McKenrick. He married Frances Lois George December 23, 1949 at Low Moor Methodist Church, Low Moor, Iowa. Clyde resided in Low Moor, Iowa; Naperville, Illinois, and East Moline and Moline, Illinois.
Clyde was raised on the family farm near Low Moor, Iowa. He attended Low Moor and Malone Elementary Schools, Elvira High School and Coe College. He was employed at Curtis Brothers Woodwork from 1948 to 1952 and 1953 to 1966; Standard Brands (Clinton Corn Processing Co.) from 1966 to 1982 and Indiana Sugars from 1982 to 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 and 1953 in Korea and Wolters Air Force Base in Texas with SCARWAF (Special Category Army with Air Force).
He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church; Camanche Masonic Lodge #60 A.F.A.M. (Past
Master & 50-year member); Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies; Low Moor O.E.S. (Past Patron); Korean War Veterans Association (Illinois State Secretary in 2014).
He is survived by his wife, Frances of Moline, IL; children, Beth E. Morrison of Moline, IL and Gary D. (Kathryn) McKenrick of Low Moor, IA; grandchildren, Trisha A. (David) Hey, Brian K. (Erin) McKenrick, Patrick (Jami) Morrison, Richard Morrison, Amy Morrison and Ann (Blake) Morrison; 12 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, two children, a great-granddaughter, a brother and a niece.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
