Clifford A. Geerts' Obituary
Clifford A. Geerts, 81, of Preston passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at his home in Preston, surrounded by his loving wife, his three daughters, grandchildren and great-children.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Sullivan, Jeremy Sullivan, Caitlyn Jacobs, Chris Corbisier, Devon Corbisier and Heidi Roy. Honorary pallbearer will be David Livingston. Clifford Alfred Geerts was born November 8, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Dorothy (Woods) Geerts. He was a 1961 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Betty Wickham on August 6, 1966 in Clinton, Iowa.
Cliff worked at Clausen Warehouse and for Clinton Corn. He enjoyed his time being the custodian at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. He loved fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Cliff is survived by his wife Betty of Preston, three daughters: Cheryl (Jeff) Jacobs of Elkader, Iowa, Catherine Hafsi of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Rebecca (Chuck) Corbisier of Preston, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Jason (Haley) Sullivan, Jeremy (Megan) Sullivan, Caitlyn Jacobs, Randi Roy, Heidi (Jeremy Berendes) Roy, Chris (Jessie) Corbisier, Megan (Nick) Ruff and Devon (Krista Carter) Corbisier; great grandchildren: Elsa, Jory, Judd, Colt, Winston, Jake, Kyah, Bennett, Becca, Carter, Joclynn, Jason, Callie, Xander and Asher; and two brothers: Russell (Laura) Geerts of Mountain View, Arkansas and Terry (Maureen) Geerts of Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the Eco Center at Rock Creek to honor Cliff’s love for fishing or to a charity of your choice.
