My most favorite art teacher... even still knew my name last time I saw him!! 30 plus years after I had him!
I appreciate all the different mediums we used to draw and paint but most of all his lectures on artists and architecture. Every time I go to Europe I remember his lectures. I got my only A+ on my painting of Riverfront and the bridges. Still hangs in my home
Mr. Sherwood was a wonderful teacher. I feel blessed that I had him as a great mentor. May he RIP!
Absolutely my favorite teacher. He made me a better person with his positive encouraging personality. Taught me a valuable lesson to take my love of drawing and make a paying career of it. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Mr Sherwood.
I remember Mr Sherwood very fondly. I am a mediocre (at best) artist, but I loved my art classes with him at WMS. My mother even has a watercolor painting hanging in her living room that I did under Mr Sherwood's tutelage. He was an excellent teacher who cared about his students. I wish his family well as they remember his life and the joy he brought to his students.
Out of all of my teachers. Mr Sherwood stands out in my fondest memories at Washington Middle School. He made art class fun! I took his mini course in macrame. I can still picture his smile and hear his kind voice.
Mr. Sherwood was a fantastic teacher and person. My consolences to his family.
