Clarke M. Christian's Obituary
Clarke M. Christian, 74, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the service hour at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Clinton. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Clarke was born February 19, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of James L. and Theodora B (Clarke) Christian. He married Barbara Pecue in East Haven, VT May 26, 1974.
Clarke attended Tufts University, Medford, MA; received his B.A. in English from Mount St. Clare College, Clinton and his M.A. in Developmental Studies from National-Louis University, Chicago Illinois in 2003.
Clark had been employed as a building and remodeling contractor for many years prior to becoming an instructor at Ashford University. He also was the Director of the Learning Assistance Center at Ashford.
Clarke enjoyed reading, writing, fishing, woodworking, playing the guitar and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Barb of Clinton, IA and sisters, Sarah (Steve) Wolodkiewicz of Angola, IN and Frances (Paul) Olender of Rolling Meadows, IL and nieces and a nephew.
Clarke was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
