Cheryl "Sheri" Mary Seymour's Obituary
Cheryl “Sheri” Mary Seymour, 62, of Clinton, passed away December 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family after brief battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, December 9, 2013 at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory with Rev. Chris Minor-Heilig officiating. Burial will be in the St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Shoultz, Gene May, Tom Bower, Spencer Taylor, William Tompkins, and Mike Portz. Cheryl Mary McDonnell was born on January 24, 1951 in Clinton, the daughter of Gerald and Mae (Hansen) McDonnell. She was a 1969 graduate of the Bradley- Bourbonnais High School, Kankakee, IL. She married Roy W. Seymour on October 3, 1970 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche.
Sheri was employed with the Joliet Army Ammunition Depot, PFC in Camanche and was the Service Desk manager at Jewell Osco for 7 years before retiring in 1992 to take care of her family.
Sheri was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church, enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, spending time with her dogs Riley and Greta, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sheri is survived by her husband: Roy of Clinton; two sons: Shane (Stacey) Seymour of Davenport, and Corey Seymour of North Liberty, Iowa; a special granddaughter: McKenzie; mother and step-father: Mae and Terrance O’Neal of Camanche; three sisters: Jan (Richard) Lamb of Fulton, Il, Karen (David) Yappen of San Antonio, Texas, Connie (William) Coffey of Elkhart, Indiana and nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Kim Alm.
Sheri was preceded by her father, grandparents, and her aunt, Dorothy Manikowski.
