Charles Edward Hindley, 85, of Clinton, Iowa died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Prairie Hills, Clinton. Private services for Charles will be held, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Charles was born February 27, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Frank and Juanita (Beardsley) Hindley. He was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air force and served in Japan for four years. He later attended Clinton Community College.
He married Janet Ringen in 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton.
Charles was employed as a maintenance supervisor at ADM for 39 years prior to retiring.
He was a member of the Clinton Moose Lodge; he loved Blues music, reading and watching nature.
Survivors include his wife, Janet of Clinton; daughter, Renée Wilkerson of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Trista Mefford; Jessica Smith and Seamus Wilkerson all of Ankeny, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Callan and Macyn Mefford aand Leighton and Jace Wilkerson all of Ankeny, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack and Jim and sisters, Esther, Ruth and Gretchen.
Memorials may be made to the family or the Alzheimer’s Association.
