Charles R. Carpenter's Obituary
Charles R. Carpenter, 80, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Charles Randall Carpenter was born on April 6, 1944 in Clinton, the son of Harry and Lucinda (Schmidt) Carpenter. He was a 1962 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Maribeth Morrissey on January 17, 1983 in Clinton.
Charles worked in construction for Union Local #43 for over 30 years retiring in 2006. He enjoyed riding his bike, walking his dogs, and attending his grandkids events.
Charles is survived by his wife: Maribeth of Clinton; three sons: Jason Carpenter, Nicholas (Cassie) Carpenter and Dustin Carpenter all of Clinton; four grandchildren with one on the way: Ethan, Alaina, Graysen, and Madyson; his siblings: Wanda Peters of Sabula, IA, Carlota Carpenter of Washington, DC, Janell (Larry) Ketelsen of Redfield, IA; and Kenneth (Roxann) Carpenter of Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Marcia.
