Charlene Faye Raymer was born November 13, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Charles and Trulia (Tomes) Raymer. She was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School in Louisville, Kentucky. She married Marvin L. Hinds on June 1, 1957; he preceded her in death on April 11, 2000. She was a homemaker for all of her life, but worked after her children were in school. She worked at Allendale Insurance in Oak Brook, Illinois and more recently was the secretary at Albany Grade School retiring in 1997.
She was a crafty woman who enjoyed crocheting, making greeting cards with rubber stamps and sewing. She loved going out to dinner, shopping and doing word search puzzles and coloring books. In her last few years of driving she would visit McDonalds everyday to get a coke. She was a soft spoken woman who was gentle and kind, more than anything she loved spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memories are her two children: Mark (Janet) Hinds of Marengo, Illinois and Marva “Missy” (Brian Cady) Whitney; grandchildren: Ethan Hinds of Marengo, Illinois, Paige Whitney of Davenport and Chloe (Cannon) Lambert; great granddaughter Hazel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Joy Webb and Pauline Raymer, one brother: Harold Raymer, and son-in-law: Randy Whitney.
