Catherine Lynn Schroeder's Obituary
Catherine Lynn Schroeder, 74, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Clinton, IA, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services will be held 5:00PM Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial visitation will be from 3:00PM until the services Thursday. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Catherine L. Mangelsen was born February 23, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Betty (Westman) Mangelsen. She was a 1968 Clinton High School graduate. Catherine was employed at Eagle Supermarket for more than 30 years as a cashier. She had also been employed at DM Services and Swiss Colony.
She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Cathy never knew a stranger and loved meeting new people. Her coworkers and close friends remember her for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.
Cathy loved to cook and bake, except potato salad -- which she would even tell you her’s was “the worst.” She adored her pets, animals, nature, and rooting for her Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
Cathy loved to laugh, and always had a smile on her face.
Survivors include her son, Andrew (Erin) Schroeder of Cedar Rapids, IA; brothers, Michael (Peggy) Mangelsen and Robert (Virginia) Mangelsen both of Clinton, IA and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents.
