Carolyn M. Mulholland's Obituary
Carolyn Marie Mulholland 89, passed away February 10, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace after suffering from multiple sclerosis for most of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held, Sunday, February 23, 2025 from noon to 2:00pm in the Parish Hall of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. In lieu flowers donations may be sent to the Clinton Humane Society. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Carolyn was born on December 20, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the oldest of four children to Mary Ellen (Thomas) and Gerhard Hein. She was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. She married the love of her life John Mulholland on December 21, 1954 they spent an amazing 70 years together, she had five great kids who decided to honor her by taking care of her the last few months of her life her oldest Deb and youngest Bob brought her meals. Brent sent his love. Nancy took care of her at home and her son Mark drove from Minnesota to care for her every couple weeks. She deeply loved her grandchildren and great grandsons. She also loved John’s side of the family: Thomas, Pat, Liz, Denny, Lois, Charlie, Jackie, Rita, Dan and Julie.
Her family wishes to give thanks to Cindy Howard, who helped take care of her Lois Reafsnider, Randy and Michelle Paulsen and Corey Jess, who would help pick her up when she would fall. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff of Mercy One Home Care and Hospice, they could turn her despair into laughter. Also her sister and best friend Gayle and niece Barb came for a surprise visit; she was delighted to see them.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, children: Deb (Maurice) Brown, Brent (Michelle), Nancy, Mark, and Bob (Joanne); grandchildren: Nick (Joann), Sean (Stephanie), Mitchell (Natalie), Megan (Eric) Boeckenstedt, Liana, Patrick and Lexie; her great grandsons: Jameson and Carter; her loving sister: Gayle (Gary) Petersen her in-laws Pat, Liz McConnell, Lois, Charlie (Jackie), Rita, Dan (Julie); special nieces: Sandra (John) Ralston, and Sharon (Dan) Voss; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers: John and Gary, her beloved granddaughter: Bailee; brother-in-laws: Thomas and Jimmy Mulholland, Dennis McConnell and great grand nephew: Justin Porth; and her mother and father-in-law James and Minnie Mulholland.
