Carolyn J. Lee's Obituary
Carolyn J. Lee, 74, of Goose Lake passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her boys on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
Carolyn was born December 28, 1949, to Russell and Thera (Jurgensen) Nelson in Clinton. After graduating from Sabula High School in 1968 she continued her education and became a surgical technician working at Iowa City Hospitals. She soon met the love of her life and married Adrian Lee on April 8, 1972. After starting a family, she began working at the US Postal Service and served as Post Master at several locations over the years retiring in 2009.
Carolyn was a dedicated member of Assumption and St Patrick’s Parish church. She had many hobbies with family always coming first. She enjoyed sewing and crafting using that passion to help support the Love Your Spirit Foundation which helped families that were fighting cancer. She loved to adventure out on her motorcycle and always looked forward to the time on the road and the friends that rode with her. She traveled as much as she could making many memories.
Those left to cherish her memory are 3 sons: Mark (Angela) Lee of Goose Lake, Chris (Leticia) Lee of Fort Worth TX and Brent Lee of Augusta GA; 10 grandchildren: Grace, Cole, Carson, Hayden, Chase, Camryn, Laycee, Ronin, Shamus and Annabelle; and her brother: Robert Nelson of Lanark, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian, parents Russel and Thera Nelson, two brothers: Ed and Chris Nelson, nephew: Rob Nelson and niece: Barb Nelson.
A Funeral Mass for Carolyn will be 11:00am, Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Assumption Catholic Church – Charlotte. Burial will be in the St. Irenaeus Cemetery – Clinton. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory.
