Carolyn Marie Knight's Obituary
Carolyn Marie Knight, 87, of Clinton, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at MercyOne, Clinton. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory and 10:00AM until the service hour Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Clinton. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Carolyn was born July 26, 1936 in Savanna, IL, the daughter of Louis D. and Anna J. (Basile) Ballas. She was raised in Antigo, WI. She attended St. John’s Parochial School and graduated from Antigo High School in 1954. In 1978 she graduated in Davenport, IA from A.I.C. Business School with a secretarial course with an Honor Degree. She was employed for five years in the Avon Plant in Suffern, NY. She had various jobs throughout life in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. In Clinton, IA she worked as an Avon Representative for 22 years and also as a cashier in the Clinton Farm & Fleet Store, retiring after 15 years in 2011. Her hobbies included aquacise classes, scrapbooking, walking and reading. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Anthony Knight of Clinton, IA; Joseph (Leticia) Knight of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Cary (Kimberly) Knight of Key West, FL; eight grandchildren, Calvin, Kayla (Justen) Hauke, Carly, Zachary (Jenny), Jacob, Christopher, James and Kaitlyn; two great-grandchildren Aleia and Knoxxwell and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James; sister, Helen; nephew Casey; sister-in-law, Jean and brother-in-law, Johan Moll.
