Carole R. Camp's Obituary
Carole Camp passed away peacefully surrounded by family and a Hallmark movie on the TV.
Carole was born October 9, 1937, in Clinton, Iowa to Frank A. and Nellie Hansen Hackett. Carole was baptized into the family of Christ December 1937 and confirmed at Chancy Lutheran Church in Clinton, IA. She attended Longfellow Elementary, Washington Junior High and graduated from Clinton High School. Carole married John Camp on June 17, 1956, at Chancy Lutheran. In 1961 John and Carole moved to the family farm at Riggs Station. She worked several jobs throughout her career, including waitressing at Edelman’s Welcome Inn, The Plaza Café and Barnes Foodland. Her most enjoyable job was as a cook at Delwood Schools. Carole was a fantastic cook, the house was often filled with the aroma of bread, cookies, cakes or pies. Carole enjoyed taking many baked goods to the farmers market with her husband John.
Carole is survived by children Cindy Diedrich (Dan) of Charlotte, Lee Camp (Sue, now passed) of Clinton, Jay Camp (Tina) of Charlotte, and Heather Stoecker (Brian) of Charlotte. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. With one on the way. Sister in-laws Gail Adrian, Fawn Heil and brother in-law Brian Peters
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents, a brother Gary Hackett, a sister Jeanee Peters and a daughter-in-law Sue Camp.
Funeral Services will be 9:30am, Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church - Charlotte. Burial will be in the Rossiter Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons: Cody Diedrich, Jordan Camp, Tevin Stoecker, Tristan Daniels, Bryan Goldensoph and Andrew Weaks. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes – Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
