Carol Winter's Obituary
Carol K. Winter, 80, of Miles, passed away, Monday, December 13, 2021 at Bettendorf Health Care Center – Bettendorf.
Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Carol Kathryn Luckritz was born on June 12, 1941 at Mercy Hospital in Clinton to Alfred E and Catherine Marie (Hughes) Luckritz. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1959. She worked from June 1957 to December 1959 at Mercy in the dietary department. She worked at the Clinton Garment Factory from December 1959 to September 1964. She also worked at the Miles Post Office from April 1986 to August 1994 and helped sorting cattle for area farmers.
Carol married Richard H. Winter on March 8, 1964 at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton; he recently passed away August 27, 2021. She loved her beloved cat Casey, camping, doing cross stitch, watching birds, reading romance novels, and loved Elvis. She operated the radio for the Miles Fire Department. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spend many years babysitting them.
She is survived by one daughter, Shal-Marie Winter of Clinton, her grandson Kyle Richard Winter, her granddaughter Jenna-Marie Dawn Winter-Johns, one brother Allen Luckritz of Clinton and one sister Judy Nissen of Florida.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Alfred E Luckritz and Catherine Marie Hughes (Kuehl) Luckritz, her daughter Valerie Dawn Winter, Sisters Nancy Kratz and Shirley Kuehl and brothers Robert and Jack Kuehl.
