Carl Rowson's Obituary
Carl Rowson, 85, formerly of Elvira, Iowa, died at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 13, 2012. Visitation will be at the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 17th from 11:00am – 1:00pm; the Funeral service will follow at 1:00 O’clock. Burial will be in the Elvira Cemetery. Carl was born December 22, 1926 to George and Mathilda (Fick) Rowson in Clinton Iowa. He lived with his Mother and Father and two brothers who farmed near Elvira. In his twenties, he moved to the Clinton County Home in Charlotte Iowa, where he resided and was provided for by a trust set up by his father for his benefit. Carl moved to Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 2000, residing there until his death. Carl was a member of the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church and the family wishes that memorials be given to the Church. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald and Maynard C. Rowson, and nephew Maynard G. Rowson. Survivors include his nephews; George (Bev) Rowson of New Jersey, and Bill (Jeanne) Rowson of Camanche, and his nieces; Mary (Les) Peters of Davenport and Judy (Ken) Gerdes of Elvira. In addition, Carl left many grand nieces and nephews to honor his memory. In his lifetime, Carl was patient, gentle, kind, meek, and longsuffering.
