Bruce M. McAlpine's Obituary
Bruce M. McAlpine, 80, of Camanche, IA, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Alverno. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. A celebration of life will be at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
Bruce was born on November 18, 1943 in Buffalo, New York to Canadian immigrants, Charles and Eleanor (Heimez) McAlpine. The family relocated to Clinton in 1955.
Bruce graduated from Clinton High School in 1961, Clinton Community College in 1963 and attended the University of Iowa. He worked for Clinton Corn Processing Company and ADM for 41 years in management.
Bruce was active in the Clinton Jaycees, serving terms as Director and Treasurer of the organization. He was a 50-year member of the Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed duck hunting and a daily breakfast with his fellow hunters on Beaver Island. He also enjoyed walleye fishing in Minnesota with the guys and cheering on the Bears, Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed many fishing outings locally with his son Brian and his daughter-in-law Jenny. Always ready with a helping hand to take those fish off the hooks.
On October 18, 1963, he married the love of his life, Randa Obermiller. Together they raised their two boys and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Randa; sons, Douglas of Rohnert Park, CA and Brian (Jenny Doyle) of Clinton, IA; grandson, Vince (Stephanie Luett) McAlpine of North Liberty, IA and great-grandson, Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dan and Ken and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Rose McAlpine.
