Brian Shontos' Obituary
Brian L. Shontos, 54, of Clinton, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Marcus, Andrew Richmond, Jeff Chapman, Darrell Davis, Kevin Walling, and Patrick Harris. Visitation will be Saturday from from 9:00am-11:00am at the funeral home.
Brian Lee Shontos was born on December 10, 1968 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Steve and Shirley (Rentz) Shontos. He was a 1987 graduate of Clinton High School.
Brian was an fork lift operator for Timken Drives for the past 22 years; and used to be a baker at Sweetheart Bakery. He enjoyed cooking, baking, and fishing. He was also an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Brian is survived by his daughter: Brooke (Matthew) Butz of Sabula; two grandchildren: Addison and Jace; his mother: Shirley Shontos of Clinton; his sister: Tina (Jason) Marcus of Bryant, Iowa, and a niece: Abigail Richmond. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, an infant brother, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
