Brian C. Brown's Obituary
Brian C. Brown, 72, of Clinton passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is honored to serve Brian’s family.
Brian Charles Brown was born March 20, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Raymond H. and Catheryn (Milan) Brown. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He married Patti Ward on May 7, 1983 in Clinton. Brian worked at 3M in Cordova, Illinois for 35 years; when he retired in 2009 he was a Journeyman Mechanic in the maintenance department.
Brian enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. In retirement he really enjoyed volunteering cutting down trees and helping fix equipment at the Nature Center at Eagle Point Park. He enjoyed spending time with Boyd, Emersyn and Bria Griswold who he loved as if they were his grandchildren. Brian had a glowing smile and although he was a frugal man he was always willing to help out.
Brian is survived by his wife of 42 years Patti Brown of Clinton; son: Eric (Nicole) Brown of Plainfield, Illinois; siblings: Jerry (Barb) Brown of Clinton, Patti Broughton of Clinton and Kenny Brown of Peoria, Illinois; mother-in-law: Rose Ward of Clinton; Patti’s siblings: Paula Vulich of Clinton and John Ward of Lawrence, Kansas; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Steve Brown, father-in-law: John Ward, sister-in-law Jane Brown and brother-in-law Kevin Broughton.
Memorials may be made to the Nature Center at Eagle Point Park.
