Bonnie Hansen's Obituary
Bonnie F. Hansen, 93, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Clinton passed away, Friday, June 12, 2026 at Terrace Glen Village in Marion.
Private Immediate Family services will be held and burial will be in the Miles Cemetery. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Bonnie Faye Kelling was born on February 27, 1933 in Renwick, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Frances (Pletcher) Kelling. She was a 1952 graduate of Renwick High School – Renwick, Iowa and attended nurse's training at Jane Lamb Hospital. She married Leighton Brown on June 25, 1954 in Bellevue, Iowa; he died November 9, 1973; she later married David Hansen on February 16, 1982; he recently died on August 2, 2025.
Bonnie loved being a farm wife and mother. She was also a bookkeeper for a Empire Gas Company. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking, and playing with her grandchildren. She was an amazing grandma. She volunteered at Jane Lamb Hospital and hospice. She was also a Sunday School teacher and taught adults how to read.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Richard (Shelley) Brown of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Cyndi (John) Nahoney of Pensacola, Florida, Peggy (Jim) Hartsgrove of Winfield, Illinois, Melinda (John) Mohr of Marion, Iowa and Dwaine (Kari) Brown of LaPorte City, Iowa; step-children: Mark (Deborah) Hansen of Thomson, Illinois and Greg (Diane) Hansen of Davenport, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and great-great granddaughter; and her sister: Faith Larsen of White Rock, New Mexico. In addition to her spouses, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Memorials can be made to Clinton Public Library. Family extends their gratitude to Suncrest Hospice and Terrace Glen for their loving care of Bonnie.
