Billie Worley's Obituary
Billie Jean Worley, 80, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Wolever, Mike Cripps, Mark Irwin, Matthew Fuegen, Andrew Fuegen, Dyllan Sparks, and Brad Cooper. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home on Thursday.
Billie Jean Cooper was born on September 6, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Imogene (Smith) Cooper. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She married Clarence “Vern” Worley on July 3, 1995 in Clinton; he died February 4, 2010.
Billie worked as the elevator attendant in the Wilson Building. She also owned and operated the Sin El Sol Tanning salon from 1998 until 2010. She loved going to the casino, reading, playing cards and Yatzee. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Billie is survived by three children: Dawn (Mike) Cripps of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Chuck (Marie) Wolever of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Dana (Mark Irwin) Sparks of Clinton; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her brother: Larry (Sue) Cooper of Albany, and her sister: Linda Troxel of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law: Paul, a grandson: Matthew Wolever, and three brothers: Johnny, Roger and David.
Memorials can be made to the Clinton Humane Society or St. Jude’s.
