Beverly J. Mensinger's Obituary
Beverly J. Mensinger, 95, died peacefully, surrounded by family, Monday, January 13, 2025 at The Alverno, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, January 17, at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with Paul Benevides officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy L Mensinger, II, Joel Kolsrud, Jason Kolsrud, Nate Campie, Nick Campie, Nolan Campie, and Derek Green. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Beverly was born on September 3, 1929 in Charlotte, Iowa, daughter of Vilas and Velma (Leslie) Brown. She married her true love, Leroy L. Mensinger on May 6, 1946 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
She spent part of her childhood on Beaver Island and attended school in both Clinton and Camanche. She and Leroy raised their family in Camanche.
Bev was a true partner and helpmate to Leroy- they worked side by side in the garden, on various projects and commercial fishing. They traveled and wintered in Texas. She was very creative- she painted, carved wood and sewed. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed family gatherings and delighted in visits from her loved ones.
She is survived by son Leroy L (Patty) Mensinger, Camanche, IA; son in law Reed (Cheryle) Kolsrud, Camanche, IA; Alice Menisnger, Burke SD; Jody Snodgrass, Clinton, IA; April Mensinger, Camanche, IA; Coralea Mensinger, Burke, SD; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Marv (Lani) Brown, DeWitt, IA; Leslie ”Butch” (Cathy) Brown, Calistoga CA; sister Sarey (Harry) Rycroft, Bettendorf, IA; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Ellie Barak, St Francis, MN.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, a daughter, a great grandson, her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Isaac Walton League, Clinton Human Society, or the charity of your choice.
