Betty Bokholdt's Obituary
Betty J. Bokholdt, 89, of Clinton, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with Pastor Christine Minor-Heilig officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Garveyt, Roger Beard, Mark Dennis, Chad Dennis, Scott Perry, and Joe Perry. Visitation will be 9:30am to the service time Saturday at the funeral home
Betty Jacqueline Zumwalt was born on September 22, 1918, the daughter of John and Hazel (Lillie) Zumwalt. She married Forrest Perry on March 2, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa; he later died June 7, 1959. She later married Al Bokholdt on May 5, 1967 in Clinton, Iowa; he later died October 6, 1973.
Betty was a 1937 graduate of Boone High School.
Betty was the secretary to the credit manager at Clinton Corn Processing for 23 year, retiring in 1953.
Betty was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church, the Clinton Womens Club, Clinton Christian Club, the Bridge Club, 55 Alive Club at the Frontier, and volunteered over 3,000 hours with Mercy Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by two grandsons: Scott and Joseph Perry of Clinton and two nieces Shirley Dennis and Janice Beard both of Clinton.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her son: John Perry and her sister: Dorothy Fuller.
