Becky Sirvid's Obituary
Becky Sirvid, 84, of Clinton, IA, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Biertzer, Mark Seckman, Lee Bromley, Joe Murray, Nathan Twedt and Scott Parker. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig is assisting the family with arrangements. She was born on January 10, 1925, in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of David E. and Edith C. (Price) Watson. Becky was a 1942 Independence High School graduate and graduated from Mercy Hospital Nursing program in 1947. She married Stanley C. Sirvid February 27, 1946 in Maquoketa, IA; he died September 3, 2006. Becky was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for more than 28 years prior to retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Church Circle, was a former member of the Women of the Moose and was a former member of Samaritan Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Steve) Bromley of Clinton and Linda (Tom) Newbanks of Marion, IA; her son, Stanley "Chuck" (Sue) Sirvid of Clinton, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Alice Waterman of Waterloo, IA, and Maxine Hunter of Phoenix, AZ; and nieces and nephews.
