Barbara Williams' Obituary
Barbara J. Williams, 74, of Clinton, IA, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at her home in Clinton, IA. Memorial services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran, Clinton on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Steve and Ryan Williams and Lucas Theide, Dan Theide and Paul Hoenicke.
She was born on January 17, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of Elmore and Ann (Hinton) Colson. She was a 1953 Fulton High School graduate. She married Bill Williams on March 21, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa.
Barbara was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Clinton Community Schools for more than 20 years. She had been an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Agatha Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer with Samaritan Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Williams of Clinton, IA; sons, Richard Franklin (Lynn) Williams of Concord, CA, and Charles E. (Diane) Williams of Johnston, IA; five grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy (Ron) Hoenicke of Preston, IA and her brother, James (Kathy) Colson of Lawrence, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a daughter. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Mercy Hospice. Online condolences may be left by visiting www.snellzornig.com
