Barbara J. Cross Stoner's Obituary
Barbara J. Cross Stoner, 88, of Davenport formerly of Fulton and Aurora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport.

Barbara Jean LeCompte was born August 29, 1935 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Edna (Huwe) LeCompte. She was a 1954 graduate of East High School in Aurora. She married Donald Cross in November 1954; he preceded her in death on August 29, 1994. Barbara remarried Kenneth Stoner in June 2000; he passed away on March 11, 2005.
Barb and Don lived in Aurora, Illinois and Barb worked for Burlington Northern in Chicago as a key punch operator, they moved to Montgomery, Illinois and then moved to Fulton in 1977 for about 10 years where she worked for Nielsen Corporation in Clinton sorting coupons. They returned to Montgomery and she worked at Mooseheart until she retired. After remarrying, she moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee. She returned to Davenport to be closer to her family in 2017.
She is survived by her son: Mark (Lori) Cross of Davenport; grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Day of Muscatine and their children Austin and Kailen and Michael (Kayla) Cross of Camanche and their children Clair and Quinn; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, one sister: Lois Fage and brother: Louis LeCompte.
