Arlene Shanafelt's Obituary
Arlene F. Shanafelt, 88, of Clinton, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, January 14, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Dennis Glew officiating. Burial will be in the Lower York Cemetery, rural Thomson, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
Arlene F. Forth was born on December 3, 1919 in Fenton, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel and Edna Hawk (Forth). She married Lyle ?Red? Shanafelt on November 28, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, he later died on June 10, 1996.
She was a graduate of Erie High School and was a homemaker.
Arlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed fishing with her family in northern Wisconsin and also shelling on the beach at Marco Island, Florida. She also enjoyed gardening and her 2 cats.
Arlene is survived by her son: Jeffery Shanafelt of Clinton, and her daughter: Debra (Michael) Diko of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
The family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church,Clinton.
